Interested in getting paid to teach English in Cambodia? Then our Paid Cambodia TEFL Internship is perfect for you. Especially if you don’t have a degree, as you won’t need one for this Internship!
You’ll kick off your Cambodia adventure by completing our 120-Hour TEFL course (this will be needed for your visa application) and it’s jam-packed full of all the information you need to know to become an awesome TEFL teacher. You’ve then got an Internship preparation course, in which you’ll find out all about what to expect on your internship.
After this, you’ll be jetting off to the “Kingdom of Wonder” (aka Cambodia) where you’ll be picked up at the airport by our in-country partners and taken to a welcome dinner, so you can meet all your fellow interns and start to settle in.
Next step, getting to know Cambodia! For the first 5 days you’ll have an in-country cultural orientation, with information and activities centred around the Cambodian language, culture, history, and food! You’ll have a brilliant experience and it will really help you to get to know the country you’ll be living in for the next year.
Over the next 12 months, you’ll get hands-on teaching experience in a Cambodian classroom, putting your TEFL skills and knowledge into practice. You will be placed in either a private school (K12) or a language school and could be teaching students of a range of ages, usually very young learners to teenagers. You will also have plenty of spare time away from the classroom to explore everything that Cambodia has to offer, from the ancient temples of Angkor Wat to the beautiful island beaches! This wonderful country, full of friendly locals, delicious foods, and amazing experiences, will not disappoint!

Before jetting off to Cambodia, you’ll complete your TEFL course, which will teach you how to effectively teach English to your Cambodian students.
To ensure you’re as ready as you can possibly be, you’ll also complete an Internship preparation course. This amazing mini-course will help you hit the ground running when you get there, covering all the essentials in classroom management and building your confidence as a teacher. It will also help you dust off your writing skills and show you how to write a travel blog!
You’ll arrive in Cambodia and be met by someone from your school or our in-country partners and will be taken to your accommodation for the orientation period. You'll then be taken to a group welcome meal, so you can meet all your fellow interns and settle in.
During your 5-day orientation period, you'll learn all about Cambodian culture, get to take some amazing trips, experience delicious food, and get to bond with your fellow interns before starting your new role. It's also the perfect time to start a Cambodia travel blog, with the new blog writing skills you’ve learned in your Internship Preparation Course. That way you’ll be able to document all your adventures for your friends and family back home!
You should be feeling prepared for teaching in Cambodia after all your training and orientation, so now it’s time to put your TEFL skills to the test!

You'll have 22 - 30 hours of contact time per week (40 working hours per week total), with 2 days off, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore.
In your free time there is lots to see. Cambodia is an interesting and beautiful country, with friendly locals and amazing historical sites to explore. It's not called the 'Kingdom of Wonders' for nothing! There really is so much to experience and enjoy.
