We’ve been following the story of Claire and Anthony: a British couple who quit their jobs as physics teachers to travel the world, with a 5 month stop in China to teach English. So far they’ve holidayed in South East Asia, before jetting to Beijing to start their TEFL induction (complete with teacher training and lots of adventures – the Great Wall of China included!)
Now they’ve been teaching for a month in Wuxi in the Jiangsu province, approximately 130km North-West of Shanghai; and have been so amazing at it, they’ve been asked to teach for an extra semester by the Academic Director (after much deliberation, they declined in favour of exploring more of the world!)
Take a look at what they’ve been up to since finding out whereabouts they would be placed, and we look forward to continuing keeping up with their adventures; which you can do so either on our YouTube channel, or on Claire and Anthony’s blog, To Love to Live!
If all of this has inspired you to start your very own TEFL adventure, you could take part in the next China internship! You’ll need to be 45 or under, but if you if book a space, you’ll get to enjoy the following:
– Great monthly allowance of 2,500 RMB
– Free accommodation with bills included
– Full in-country support from our expert partners, ImmerQi
– Socialising opportunities with a network of interns who are in exactly the same position as you
You can find out more information about the China internship here; or alternatively, if you like the sound of a TEFL internship but China just isn’t for you, you can take a look at the programmes to Thailand and Vietnam.
