There are few limitations to becoming TESOL-certified – hooray! These are the requirements:
• You need to be a native English speaker.
• A handful of countries such as Japan insist that you have a degree, but these are few and far between. This definitely isn’t a requirement for our courses!
• You DON’T have to speak the local language.
Our graduates have rated our TESOL courses an amazing 4.5 stars out of 5 and we get consistently excellent feedback! Here’s a few reasons why you should get TESOL certified with us:
Giving you the skills! We aim to transform you from an aspiring TESOL teacher to one with the confidence and skills to face your first class and inspire students of your own – what could be better?!
Simple but effective! We keep things simple, focusing on developing the essential skills required to be an effective TESOL teacher
Grammar! You will learn important details about the English language and how to convey them to your students in a simple, easy-to-understand way
Prepared for everything! You will become skilled at teaching English to a range of students – whether that’s on a one-to-one basis for a Businessman or a teaching a group of teenagers in Thailand!
All about resources! We will build your confidence to teach in a range of classroom situations, with a variety of materials, tips and solutions to common problems
We’re the best at what we do. Now, we don’t like to blow our own trumpet too much but we were the first TESOL provider of our kind to get Ofqual qualified – this means our courses are regulated by the English Government. With over 210,000 graduates and experience of sending happy teachers around the world since 1994, we’re one of the world’s leading providers, meaning with an i-to-i TESOL certificate, your CV will stand out from the crowd.
You may’ve heard that you don’t need a TESOL certificate to get a job overseas. The truth is that, in many countries, you don’t.
But the reality is that without any training, you’ll find it much tougher to find work. In this situation, it’s easy to find yourself working for an employer who provides few benefits, even fewer resources for their teachers to use, with a poor pay packet at the end of the month – not ideal when you might want to save for future travels! Either way, you’ll be making it much harder than it needs to be for both yourself and your students. When you can get qualified in as quick as 2 weeks, you might as well make it as easy as possible!
Proper training in TESOL teaching not only makes sure your students leave your classroom learning, it also helps to make you enjoy your time teaching – for most of us it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so enjoy every second!
As a fledgling TESOL teacher, you can expect to earn £800 each month on average. It’s important not to compare this to your salary from home as the cost of living in many TESOL destinations is far lower than you’d find at home, so your money will be worth much more.
With our Supported TEFL Jobs and TEFL Internships, often including free accommodation and meals, the hard part of finding a job in a reputable school is done for you, leaving you with the fun bits to plan! Earning up to £740 a month and with a generous completion bonus of up to £740, our Supported TEFL Jobs in epic locations such as China, Vietnam or Thailand, are ideal if you’re wanting a serious teaching job with a good amount of travel thrown in!
